ByLola was first opened as ‘Perfumeria Loli’ in 1964 by Dolores Amayuelas.
‘Perfumeria Loli’ was Barcelona Gràcia’s district go to shop for perfume, beauty products and household products. Dolores opened the store in 1964 after years of working as a seamstress and maid for the wealthy families of upper Barcelona. She opened the shop together with Patricio, her husband, who helped her transform the entrance and living room of their ground floor home into their own little shop.

Who is Dolores?
Dolores was my grandmother and she passed away in December 2020 after battling Alzheimer's for 20 years.

She was born in Burgos youngest of 13 siblings in the middle of the Spanish Civil War, where she lost her father and two of her brothers.

At a very young age she had to move to Barcelona in order to be able to support herself and it was there after working in clothing factories, as a waitress, seamstress and maid that the dream for her own little shop was born.
